Happy Birthday to Nagarjuna

Today, 29th August is Nagarjuna's Birthday. He is turning 50. He is currently doing a film with a debutant as the director. It is expected to release in December, Nag's favourite month for releasing movies. What is even more special about this birthday is that Nagarjuna's son, Naga Chaitanya's debut movie Josh is about to be released on September 3rd. Let's wish all the best to both of them.

Happy Birthday to Mega Star


Today is everyone's favourite MegaStar Chiranjeevi's birthday. He has turned 54. We have not seen any movies from him for the past few years after Shankar Dada Zindabad (except for his guest role in Magadheera), and we may not see any for a few more years. Let's wish him all the best for what ever he wishes to do in the future.

Magadheera vs Pokiri

Here is a program that came on TV9 about Magadheera's and other Tollywood records. Couldn't find part 1 and 8.

According to them the Top 10 Grossers of all time are:

2. Arundhati 33cr.

Naga Chaitanya 2nd Movie Details

Naga Chaitanya's second movie was launched today. It will be directed Goutham Menon and produced by Manjula and Sanjay on Indira Productions banner. It said to be a different kind of love story that will be liked by the classes and youth. The main attraction of the film is the music, which is going to be composed by maestro AR Rehman. They will be shooting in Hyderabad, New York and Kerala. The movie is likely to be release in December.

Gowtham Menon will start Mahesh's film in December.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya's first film Josh has a tentative release date of July 28th, but Dil Raju said that he will make an official announcement of the release date after he watches the film later this week.

Bridavanam Details

Forthcoming NTR-starrer Brindavanam was launched today. It has a lot of big names and combinations associated with it. It will have two heroines who are yet to be selected. It is directed by Vamsi Paidipally who is back after Munna. The supporting cast are Srihari, Brahmanandam and Sunil. It will be a family orientated subject with humour elements. The music is composed by Thaman, who is getting good offers after the successes of Kick and Anjaneyulu. Oy yeah, and to top it all off it is being produced by the man with the golden hand Dil Raju. It is slated to release for Summer 2010, looking forward to it.

Meanwhile, Taarak's next movie with Vinayak will probably release in October.

Big Launches on August 15

There are going to be two big launches in Tollywood on August 15th. One of them is the Dil Raju production Brindavanam starring Jr NTR in the direction of Vamsi Paidipally (of Munna). The other one is Naga Chaitanya's second movie in the direction of Goutham Menon and produced by Manjula of Indira Productions.

Furthermore, Sekhar Kammula's upcoming venture Leader starring RaNa is going to have its logo launched today as well. Well, its a big day for Tollywood and for India.

Gowtham Menon with Mahesh and Naga Chaitanya

Gowtham Menon will be directing Mahesh Babu's next film, but it isn't the first one that was proposed. The first one is a youthful love story which will now be made with Naga Chaitanya. Indira Productions will produce this one as well. Mahesh's film will be an action subject. Naga Chaitanya's film will begin after Josh has released.

Meanwhile, Trivikram's Varudu is still going and is expected to release for Sankranthi next year. This is almost a make or break situation for Mahesh as he is going to appear on screen after more than 2 years! It is heard that Mahesh is playing the role of a cab driver in Varudu.
