Konchem Istam Konchem Kastam Review

Story:
Siddhu (Siddharth) is a carefree guy who enjoys life with friends and girls everyday. Geeta Subramaniyam (Tamanna) is a girl that moves to Hyderabad to continue her education and lives with her cousin. One day, the both of them meet in unusual circumstances and Geeta gets a bad impression of Siddhu. Then it is later revealed that Siddhu is in the friends group of her cousin. Siddhu mother (Ramya Krishna) is a lecturer to Geetha. One day, Geetha tells Siddhu's mother that her Siddhu's father is returning from the US. However, Geeta then finds out that Siddhu parent have split up and she starts seeing Siddhu in a different light. The rest of the story is how the two bond and what obstacles they have to overcome.

Performances:
Siddharth excelled in his role as Siddhu. His potrayal of emotions and his comedy timing is superb. Tamanna also performed well showing a bit of a contrast from her role in Happy Days. Prakash Raj, as usual, is excellent and his scenes with Siddharth were really well etched. Ramya Krishna was alright in her role which did not require much in terms of acting. Nasser as Tamanna father suited the role. Bramhandham spills laughs throwout as Gachibowli Diwakar. Venu Madhav is also funny as Bangaru Raju. Overall, the casting was very good with all characters fitting their roles and there was no unnecessary roles.

Analysis:
The story is not a new one but it is told in an interesting way. There is ample comedy from Venu Madhav (who is the friend of Siddhu) and Bramhanadham. The debutant director, Kishore Kumar, has chosen a good family drama to start with. It can be labelled a clean entertainer that can be watched with the whole family. The first half runs on a comedy and the second half becomes a little more serious. Overall, it was a good effort by the director.

Coming to other technical aspects, the camera work is really nice with good use of contrasting colours. The music is also pretty good by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with most of them being situational songs. The songs look pretty good on screen. The Background score is also pretty well done. Choreography, dialogues are also good. The production values by Nallamallapu Srinivas (Bujji) are high rate.

Downfalls:
It is a long movie and sometimes the pace of the film is quite slow. Otherwise, there are other no big flaws.

Verdict:
Overall, it is suited to family audiences. It is worth watching. It should do reasonably well at the box office.
