Rama Rama Krishna Krishna Audio Review

Rama Rama Krishna Krishna is the title of the forthcoming film featuring Ram, Arjun, Priya Anand (Leader-fame), and Bindu Madhavi among the cast. This film is another Dil Raju Production, and it is directed by Srivass, who directed the action flick Lakshyam starring Gopichand and Jagapathi Babu. Dil Raju has a knack of extracting great tunes from music directors. Be it Devi Sri Prasad with Aarya and Bommarillu, Mani Sharma with Parugu, or Mickey J. Meyer with Kotha Bangaru Lokam. The music composer for this film is none other than MM Keeravani. The movie is a momentous one for Keeravani, as it is the 200th film for which he is composing music. Now you may feel that there is bit of an image clash here. MM Keeravani is known for his soft melodies whilst Ram is a great dancer and naturally we would expect fast beat songs in his films. This album is another single card for lyricist Ananth Sriram who is in great demand now (He wrote all the songs for another summer release Darling). Let's see how this album has turned out.

01 - Rama Rama Krishna Krishna
Singers: Karthik, Ranjith, Sudha Jeevan
The first number to this album starts of in an interesting manner with instructions being given to someone which leads them to the hero. The real plus point of this song is the lyrics and tune are really catchy in the pallavi. In fact, I had this tune is my head after watching the first trailer itself. I especially like the part, "Sometimes, sometimes, Rama, Rama, sometimes, sometimes, Krishna!". The song describes how the character of Rama Krishna (Ram's character in the film) has the shades of both Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. The singers Karthik and Ranjith really energised the song as did Keeravani's orchestration. To tell you the truth, I couldn't really tell when Karthik was singing and when Ranjith was singing since their voice cultures are very similar. Overall, it is a good start to the album and I have a feeling this number is going to feature in the chart toppers for the coming weeks.

02 - Oola Ulala
Singers: Tippu, Chaitra
This is another fast beat song which will be feast for the masses especially if it is choreographed well. The punchline is good, "Debba kodithe dayyalu vadalala". When you listen to this song you know it is composed by Keeravani because it has his mark to it. Tippu does a good job, not sure when Chaitra chips in, it might be in the chorus. The interludes are well composed and the lyrics are suited to the genre of the song.

03 - Lera Chanti
Singers: Karthik, Chorus
The second song in the soundtrack featuring Karthik, and this time it is a festival song. More specifically it is a song about Sankranthi in a village. The lyrics are pretty good and how much we enjoy this song depends on how it is picturised and when it actually comes in the movie. It's pretty good on the ears in the first listening itself but definitely will be liked more if picturised well on the screen.

04 - Count Down
Singers: Deepu, Chaitanya, Noel
This seems like a revenge song, a countdown to the final battle. Unfortunately, it didn't appeal much. It is definitely a different kind of orchestration especially from Keeravani. The singing is quite loud, maybe to intensify the mood the song, but somehow it doesn't evoke a sense of intensity in the listener. There is one positive to the number though, the humming that repeated throughout the song is quite catchy. I guess we will have to see how it comes up on screen; but for now, not so good.

05 - Endukila
Singers: M.M. Keeravani, Karthik, Geetha Madhuri, Chaitra
This is a sad song featuring a wide list of singers. Possibly one voice for each character involved. It is probably a situational song and this time Keeravani hits the nail on the head in terms of emotions conveyed in the song. The introduction humming from Keeravani is very good and sucks you into the tune. The amazing thing about this song is that the notes used in the pallavi of this song, "Andari kosam vontaravutu aanandinchina, Rama", are exactly the same as the notes used in the "Sometimes, sometimes, Rama, Rama..." part of the first song. However, completely opposite emotions are conveyed in both songs - superb orchestration. All the singers did a good job and the lyrics are also very good. However, I think at the end of the second charanam Karthik says "Charita" instead of "Charitra". A very good song which I liked in the first listening.

06 - Thu Go Jilla
Singers: Daler Mehandi, Chaitra
Daler Mehandi is back again with this number. He has been a regular in Keeravani's musicals of late, noteably featuring in Yamadonga and Magadheera. This is a typically mass song with a Punjabi feel to it (mainly the rhythms). Chaitra sings her third song in the soundtrack and does a good job in the Chinese-like humming. This is another song in which Ram can exhibit his dancing talents.

Last Words:
Keeravani has once again reinvented himself and given fresh tunes as well as his trademark tunes in this soundtrack. He has made sure that his 200th film has good music. Coming to the film, Ram's last film Ganesh couldn't satisfy the audience's expectations, while Dil Raju is having a rough patch with his recent films. We will have to see what Srivass comes up with in his second film. As far as I see it, the music will be a asset for the film especially if Keeravani repeats his magic in the background score of the film as well. The film expected to release in May.

Prabhas is one man who has got all the talent but is finding it hard to strike gold at the box-office. We are used to seeing him in action-orientated movies, but this time he has changed track and coming in the romance genre. Karunakaran who has proved himself as a good director of love stories is back with this one. After the success of the music in Ullasamga Utsahamga , Karunakaran has selected G.V. Prakash again to handle the music. Ananth Sriram wrote all the lyrics. Let's see how the songs have turned out.

01 – Hoshare
Singers: K.K, Leslie
What an enegetic start to the soundtrack! K.K is a specialist when it comes to these kind of songs. This one is little bit like "Paataku Praanam" from Vaasu and "Kadhulu Kadhulu" from the Prabhas-starrer Munna. The whole song is full of energy from the first second to the last. I liked the variations in the singing after the first charanam and the ending when K.K sings the same note for 10 seconds without taking a breath. The lyrics match the mood of the song. Will be liked in the first listening.

02 – Inka Eedo
Singers: Suraj, Prashantini
This one is a melody song. The introduction music is catchy, but the first few lines of the singing lacks clarity. It sounds like Tamil, but then after a few lines that it is a Telugu songs. It may be that Tamil singers were used (G.V. Prakash being Tamilian himself). Hence, it sounds a bit like a song dubbed from Tamil. That is the only downfall of this song there isn't lyrical clarity. I am not sure where Prashantini sings, there is some female chorus. Also, at the end of the charanams there is a small flute part that reminded my of O Prema from Ullasamga Uthahamga. But that was a sad song and this is a happy song. Shows what kind of emotions can be shown with orchestrations. Overall, another good number.

03 – Neeve
Singer: G.V. Prakash Kumar
These days all music directors are taking the microphone to render their own songs. Arguably, over the last few months the some of best songs in albums have been sung by the music directors themselves (e.g. DSP in Adurs, Aarya 2). Well, coming to this song, it is the best song in the album. There is a peculiarity about the orchestration. Right from the strumming of the guitar in the beginning to the tune of the song. That's why it sounds very fresh. G.V. Prakash's voice is pretty good, lyrical clarity was missing in some places but he did the song justice. Some parts of the interludes remind us of Prakash's earlier works, but I guess we can call them his signiture tunes.

04 – Bulle
Singers: Mallikarjun, Priya Hemesh
If you are waiting for a mass-orientated song, this is probably the closest it gets in this soundtrack. It starts of with Punjabi style music but then the song gets more of a folk-tinge. After a long time we are hearing Mallikarjun's voice and it is good to have a Telugu voice back. Priya also did a nice job. I am guessing this was composed to keep the front benchers happy as the rest of the songs are mainly melody-based. Not a bad number.

05 – Pranama
Singers: Rahul Nambiar
This is another peppy, youthful song. But, it resembles "Neeve" and "Inka Edo" a little bit, but falls short of those songs. Rahul Nambiar is pretty good but the song just doesn'y possess anything that stands out like the other numbers. The lyrics sound a little bit clumsy in spaces as the music mostly dominates the lyrics. Overall, it is not harsh on the ears, but probably could have been better.

06 – Yeyo
Singers: Benny Dayal, Chorus
This is the music that we heard in the first trailer they released. It was catchy from the first listening itself and I was waiting to listen to the song. The highlight of the song is the chorus of "Gum Gum Yeyo", that is what really brought life to the song. Otherwise, it is just an ordinary number. Again, in some places you feel like you are listening to a dubbed song because the lyrics lack clarity. It is another loud song in terms of music dominating lyrics as well. It is still a good number because of the chorus part.

Last Words:
A good soundtrack mostly targeted at the youth audience. It has mostly peppy tunes and the music does dominate the vocals in most of the numbers. G.V. Prakash has done a good job and I hope to hear a few more of his tunes in Telugu. Coming to Prabhas, this movie is kind of important for his career. Over the last five years, we have see him in only action movies and people may be starting to get bored of that image. Despite his movies not faring well at the box-office he popularity is growing by the day, which shows that he has true talent. This soundtrack is probably better when compared to he recent movies. But, the success of this music will depend largely on the success of the film. I hope this film brings Prabhas a much-needed hit.

2009 wasn't a great year for Mani Sharma. His music lost its spark and the movies he composed music for failed as well. He is back after a bit of a gap in 2010 with Varudu. The film is directed by Gunasekhar who earlier directed blockbuster movies like Okkadu and Choodalani Vundi. He is also back after a four year hiatus with this movie (His last film was Sainikudu). All the lyrics for this film are written by Sri Veturi Sundaramurthy. This one stars Allu Arjun, and when we think of him you expect fast beat tunes and youthful music. Well, you will be in for a surprise.

01 – Saare Jahaa.. Premaa Yahaa
Singers : Benny
This is the kind of dance number we expect in Bunny's movies. It has a good techno beat and nice lyrics as well. It is probably an hero introduction song, so Bunny can show all his dance moves in this one. The only downside for this one is probably the selection singer. Benny does well but his pronounciation of Telugu could be worked on. It will be liked after a couple of hearings.

02 – Aidhurojula Pelli
Singers : Jamuna Rani, Hema Chandra, Malavika, Vijayalakshmi, Sunandha, Ranjith
A song about the Five days of Marriage and who better to write it than the great Veturi. The lyrics in this song are ultimate, and there is no other words that I say. Mani Sharma has also done a great job with this one showing the different environments in a Telugu marriage. The song goes for more than 8 minutes so we will have to see how it is shown in the movie. All the singers do a great job and there is also heavy chorus throughout the song. This is sure to feature in all marriage tapes from now on. If this is presented nicely on the screen this will become a classic.

03 – Kalalu KaavuleSingers : Hema Chandra, Malavika (Humming)
Hema Chandra has become a favourite of Mani Sharma's. This song is a nice melody. The real highlight of this song is the humming from Malavika, it is really haunting and will stay in your head for the whole day. The lyrics, again, are superb and the rendering from Hema Chandra is also excellent. I liked it on the first listening itself.

04 – Thalambraalatho

Another traditional Telugu song. Hema Chandra and Malavika do a great job but the real highlight of this song is the lyrics. There is nothing more I can say about this song. Will definitely be liked by the class audiences.

05 – Bahusha Vo Chanchalaa
Singers : Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal
Another slow melody. The introduction of this song is about 90 seconds so it may test your patience the first time. But once you get into the song you can't say that you don't like it. The singers do a superb job even though both of them are not Telugu singers. You definitely don't expect this kind of song in a Bunny movie and we will have to see how it is picturised. Will be liked by people who love slow melodies.

This is a shorter version of the earlier one. It doesn't have all the different environments but just focuses on the marriage. My opinion is no different to the earlier one.

07 – Relaare RelaareSingers : Karthik, Geetha Madhuri
Just when you thought that this album will have no reach for the mass audiences, Mani Sharma slots a typical mass number in. Even though it is typical, it has a distinctness to it. Karthik does a good job with the mass as well and Geetha Madhuri sounds a little different to usual. Disappoints a little bit compared to other numbers but not bad.

Last Words:You have to listen to this soundtrack just for Aidhurojula Pelli. No doubt that if it is presented well on screen, the movie is likely to do well. This album is for the class audience and Mani Sharma has shown some variety and is back in form. Veturi lyrics are amazing. It is really refreshing to hear Telugu songs with the minimal use of Hindi and English lyrics. Allu Arjun fans might be a little disappointed but I think he will be become closer to the family audiences with this film.

Disney Producing Siddharth's movie!

Venky and Pawan in a movie!

Yes, you heard right. There is a rumor doing the rounds that Victory Venkatesh and Power Star Pawan Kalyan are ready in act together in a multistarrer. If sources are to be believed Dil Raju is planning a movie with two super stars in the direction of Srikanth Addala of Kotha Bangaru Lokam fame. Let's hope this project materialises.

Ye Maaya Chesave Talk

Here is the talk of the movie:

There is unanimous positive talk.
Naga Chaitanya is greatly improved, did very well. Samantha is also very good.
AR Rehman's background score was superb and of course songs are already chartbusters.
The main positive aspect is cinematography, it very nice on the eyes.
The only negative is that the narration drags a little bit in the second half.
It is a nice,natural and visual movie.
Overall, it is a sure shot hit.

Maro Charitra Audio Review

Dil Raju has unveiled a new production house called Matinee Entertainments, under which he said that he will produce only experimental films. The first movie he is producing under this banner is the remake of yesteryear classic Maro Charitra. He has cast Varun Sandesh opposite a newcomer Anitha for this one. It is directed by a debutant Ravi Yadav. Coming to the music side, young sensation Mickey J. Meyer is the music director. The audio was released recently let's see how it turned out.

01 - Prema Prema
Singer: Karthik
Lyrics: Vanamaali
This type of song has become the trademark of Mickey. So far all his albums have had numbers like this. Still it is good number and Karthik once again is very good. The introduction is good and the lyrics are pretty good. The only downside of the song is that the "I Love You" chorus section should have better. But a good start to the album.

02 - Yee Teega Puvvuno (Female)

Lyrics: Late Acharya Athreya
This an interesting remix. Generally, recent remixes have had the same tune as the original and have slightly adjusted lyrics. For this they have gone with exactly the same lyrics and changed the tune of the song completely. What's more, it is a pretty good tune. Shweta Pandit is very good and has become a regular in Mickey's soundtracks. It is very quite and haunting number, sure to be liked.

Again they have gone with the same lyrics and changed the tune of the song. It more like a disco song now. The original had a lot of English, but interestingly they have left out all the English lyrics in this one and replaced it with humming. In fact if you ignore the lyrics, it is a completely different song. Mickey composition is ver different in this one, he is really bringing a new sound to Telugu music just like Ilaiyaraja did many years ago. I like it.

This is a slow, soft melody which you expect Mickey to compose. A bit like "Nenani Neevani" from Kotha Bangaru Lokam. This is sure to get in your head after one listening. The whole song gets you into a trance. The only downside is the last charanam when Sri Mathumitha chips in. It is high pitch and there also a lot of music at that point which kind of changes of the whole mood of the song. It would have been better if he had maintained the same quite mood throughout the song. Otherwise, another chartbuster.

This a fast beat song. It is bit like "Ye Cheekati" from Happy Days. The tune is pretty catchy and so are the lyrics. I am not sure where Varun Sandesh exactly sings. Ranjith is pretty good and Smitha only comes in a chorus section. Another good number.

The introduction music is the one we heard in the trailor they released earlier. This is a sad version of the Female version. As good as the first one with Karthik doing an excellent job.

Last Words:

Mickey J. Meyer is really the new AR Rehman or Ilaiyaraja. He is bringing new sounds in each soundtrack as well as maintaining his trademark style of tunes. Dil Raju should be complemented for letting Mickey compose a predominantly melody soundtrack. The last four audio reviews I have done (Aarya 2, Leader, Ye Maaya Chesave and Maro Charitra) have all been very good soundtracks and I am happy that there is good mix of music in recent films.

After a long time AR Rehman is composing music for a Telugu film. Ye Maaya Chesave, starring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha is releasing this Friday 26th of February. It is directed by Gowtham Menon who had a great combination with Harris Jayaraj but has opted for AR Rehman for this one. All the songs are written by Anantha Sriram. Let's see how the soundtrack has turned out.

01 - Kundanapu Bomma
Singers: Benny Dayal, Kalyani Menon
Malayalam Lyrics: Kalyani Menon
A good start to the album. The only problem I have with this song is the lyrics. Since the song was composed primary for the Tamil version so some of the words sound a little out of place. However, the tempo picks up at the chorus section. The section with Malayalam lyrics is very good. The orchestration is obvious superb from Rehman.

02 - Manasaa
Singers: Devan Ekambaram, Chinmayi
This song appealed to me straight away. The singers choice is very good. The tune is catchy, especially at the chorus section. There is only one charanam as Rehman used extended interludes which proved very effective. The lyrics are also pretty good. A good song.

Additional Vox: Vivek Agarwal
This a very slow melody. Karthik is very good as usual. This may not appeal straight away because the lyrics are well written but don't quite sync with the music. Otherwise, it sound very different and new.

English Rap Lyrics: Blaaze
What can I say about this song. It starts off with pathos and then picks up energy and turns to Jamaican style rap. Only Maestro Rehman is capable of this. Rehman continues bring new trends and sounds to music. The singer selection is perfect. The lyrics are also pretty good. This song has melody as well as a peppy feel. Sure to be liked after repeated listening.

There is full energy in this song. Naresh Iyer is fabulous. I like the way the charanam is composed with Naresh Iyer saying one word and the chorus saying the next word. The end of the charanam is also very good to hear. Overall it is very peppy song and will surely be liked. I waiting to see how this will be picturised.

This song is probably a situational one. The tune of this song is not really identifiable. It is song that kind of meanders until the end showing different emotions. Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal are very good as expected. This will probably be liked more once seen on screen.

This is a Malayalam song. Yet it is still good to listen to and proves that music has no language. The guitar strumming is very good and gives a distinct feel to the song.

Last Words:

I have always not been able to enjoy AR Rehman's Telugu songs to the fullest just because the lyrics could have been better. Veturi has always given the best lyrics to dubbed movies especially in collabaration with AR Rehman. This time they have selected yound talent Anantha Sriram for the lyrics and he has done a descent job but obviously not in the league of Veturi. This is a good album with new sounds. No doubt it will work like slow poison and will be liked by all audiences. Nice to see AR Rehman back in Tollywood (Also waiting for Puli!).

Adurs Audio Release on 5th of December

Adurs audio release has been postponed to the 5th of December. Apparently, the third song in the movie is called "Pilla Naa Valla Kaadu", NTR has done some amazing dance steps. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the songs and he is probably going to perform a few of them at the audio release. The lyrics are written by Chandrabose, Ramajogayya Sastry and Kulasekhar. The film is directed by VV Vinayak and will probably release for Christmas. So we will have to wait a few more days for Adurs music.

Nagarjuna's Movie is called Kedi

Nagarjuna's upcoming movie is titled Mosagadu. The audio is likely to be released on the 20th of December and the movie is scheduled to be released on 7th of January 2010. The movie is directed by debutant Kiran and produced by D.Siva Prasad Reddy who also produced King last year with Nagarjuna. The music is composed by Sandeep Chowta. Earlier there were rumours that this movie was to be titled , but it has been titled as Mosagadu.

The introduction to the song is well composed with English lyrics. They used the same vocals as the original song and fuzed it with the modern composition of Mickey. It is a wonderful combination and the use of instruments in the song is interesting. You will definitely like it in the first listening.

This is a typical Mickey composition. Reminds a bit of "Arere Arere" and "Nijamga Nenena" but at the same time is different. Naresh Iyer is very good and Shweta Pandit chips in at the end. One of the best melodies in recent times.

This song reminds us a bit of AR Rehman's "Vandemataram". The song is very catchy and will no doubt be in your head after listening to it. There is not much to say about the music as it is the lyrics and vocals that dominate. The some of the pronounciation by Nakesh could have been better, otherwise it is another excellent song in the album.

This is the item song in the movie. Don't expect the kind of loud music in a normal item number. It has got a tradition North Indian feel to it. But it doesn't really have the energy that it should have had. The orchestration is really light and the song overall is pretty soft. Not bad, but maybe should have been better.

A female solo song. There is a good use of piano and other instruments in the song. It is again quite a soft song. Sunita Sarathy is okay but her pronounciation of some words is a bit weird but overall pretty good. This one grows on you as you listen to it, it may not appeal straight away.

What a start to the album! The introduction music is very catchy and you probably hear a lot of ring tones based on the intro. Baba Sehgal does a great job and lyrics are perfect. The rap done by Devi Sri Prasad is interesting. It has good musical interludes and tune for dance so we have to see how it is picturised in the movie. Definite chartbuster.

This song comes under the same genre as "Feel My Love" from Aarya. The introduction music in again good. KK does a good job again especially in the high pitch regions. The interludes are well composed. The lyrics are suitable for the song. It might not have the lasting appeal that "Feel My Love" had but it still a good song.

The starting of the song is interesting with a conversion and then the song. Devi Sri Prasad's voice suited the mood of the song. The lyrics by Chandrabose are the highlight for this song, and make it interesting. We have heard tune before but the rendition by Devi Sri Prasad and the lyrics give a lively feel. Another good number.

This is the Aarya 2 version of "Aa Ante Amalapuram". Even the song is actually quite repetitive with "Ringa Ringa" every few lines, it is still very catchy and will make a good dance number. The beat is good with heavy drum usage. Let's see how this song is picturised, but it is going to a popular number.

This is the first duet in the album. It doesn't quite stike the same chord as the other songs in the first listening but you like it after repeated listing. Kunal Ganjawala is okay, but another singer may have been better. Megha voice in refreshing. The lyrics are also pretty good. But somehow the song lack a bit of energy somewhere. Not bad.

06 - My Love Is Gone

This is a techno number. The introduction music is good in typical techno style. It is a perfect dance number, and hopefully we will see some good moves from Bunny. The start of the first interlude has a tune that sounds a techno version of "Edo Priyaragam" from Aarya, it is good that they have at least one reference to the original movie. Ranjith injects a lot of energy into the song and the lyrics are also good but dominated by the music.

07 - Karige Loga (D-Plugged)

This is softer version of the earlier song. The lyrics are heard clearly in this version and Sagar is pretty good in this one. The strumming of the guitar gives a good feel to the song. It is probably a sad version of the earlier one. I liked this version better than the earlier one because the orchestration is more attractive. Pretty good.

08 - Mr. Perfect (DSP Mix)

Another DSP Mix. We had one for King and Jalsa and now for Aarya 2. It is in typical DSP style and you can just imagine him dancing and singing this. The mixing is pretty good like his earlier remixes. The use of the beat is pretty good again. He doesn't deviate too much from the original song which is good because it keeps the original flavour of the song.

No doubt this is a chartbusting album. Almost all the songs are good in the first listening and the rest are good in repeated listening. Devi Sri Prasad scores another music hit with this one. It will definitely help the openings for the movie. Let's see how the film turns out on the 27th November. While I'm hear I might as well tell you that it has been censored and got a U/A certificate. It runs for about 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Jr.NTR's current project Adurs directed by VV Vinayak is almost complete. It is said to be a mass entertainer in which NTR is playing a dual role. The heroines are Nayanatara and Sheela. The music composed by Devi Sri Prasad will be releasing on November 20th and the film will release in December.

Meanwhile, Jr.NTR is going to be doing two projects simulataneously; Dil Raju's Brindavanam, and Meher Ramesh's Shakti. Brindavanam is directed by Munna-fame Vamsi Paidipally and NTR is starring opposite Trisha for the first time in this one. Thaman is composing the music and Srihari is said to be doing an important role.

Shakti is coming in the same combination as Kantri with Aswini Dutt as the producer and Mani Sharma composing the music. Ileana is pairing with NTR again after Rakhee.

Everyone has form slumps. If you take a cricketer, for example, they may hit five tons in row but they may also get five ducks in a row. But they will still be remembered as a great cricketer if they come back after five ducks to score more centuries. The same applies in the movie industry. Mani Sharma has been in a form slump of sorts for the last couple of years. He really needs one rocking album to come back. Ek Niranjan is the next offering from Puri Jagannath with Prabhas in the lead. Let's see if Mani is back in form.

01 - Ek Niranjan

Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
One of the best title songs in recent times. The rendition by Ranjith is perfect and shows the hero's characterisation in his expression. The lyrics are catchy and the tune is immediately hummable. The introduction tune gives a new feel to song and beat is superb. No doubt that this song will be a chartbuster.

Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
Hemachandra has been featuring in Mani Sharma's albums for the last couple of years and almost all the songs he has song are hits. Prabhas-Mani Sharma-Hemachandra combo was seen in Prabhas' last movie Billa in the song "Bommali". The same magic didn't quite repeat this time but it is not a bad number. Hemachandra is good as usual, as is Geetha Madhuri. The lyrics are OK, but the main feature of the song is the tune. The pallavi after the first charanam is good as the vocals are mixed with a guitar which gives a feel to the song. But overall, it is just an average song because it has similarities to Mani Sharma's earlier songs.

Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry This song immediately reminded me of "Devuda" from Pokiri. The feel of the song is the same, but the rendition is a lot softer. There are always songs like this in Puri Jagannath movies, remember "Choopultho Guchchi" from Idiot and "Ninne Ninne" from Desamuduru. It is another hummable number, but lacks the catchy lyrics that the other songs I mentioned have. Karthik is good as usual.

Hasn't it been a long time since we heard a slow melody from Mani Sharma? This one is a soothing melody number which brings back memories of Mani Sharma's older tunes for movies like Okkadu and Khushi. Malavika does a good job and Bhaskarabhatla's lyrics are also good. This one is not for the people who like fast dance numbers but it will be liked by melody lovers.

This is another mass number with an interesting use of a trumpet in the introduction. You remember Kalyan Vasanth from various singing shows on TV, he gets his chance with this song. It is very similar to "Choododdu Antunna" from Pokiri. The lyrics are alright. Not a bad number but not the best either.

06 - Nartanatara (A Tribute to Michael Jackson)

Lyrics : Vishwa
A tribute to Michael Jackson from the Telugu industry. It is pretty good number, but the only drawback is the lack of lyrical clarity in the female singer. The musical interludes given by Mani are superb, especially the second interlude when the tune and beat of Michael Jackson's Billy Jean is used. The lyrics are good by Viswa who is good at incorporating English lyrics into Telugu (for example the Athadu introduction song). It's not a chartbuster but not a bad number either. What I want to know is, how they are going to picturise it and how they are going to fit it into the movie. In the credits perhaps.

Last Words: It is not just Mani Sharma that needs to get back into form, it is also Puri Jagannath and Prabhas. For all three this is a crucial movie. As far as the audio is concerned, it is pretty good and will help the movie's openings. I wouldn't say Mani is in full form yet, but definitely on his way back.

The wallpapers leaked onto some sites a couple of days ago were actually fake ones. The fake wallpapers had the tagline "My Love is Gone". Actually, the tagline is "Baby, he loves you". The Logo is actually the same as the one used for the first Arya but with a 2 in the front. An official statement from the producer Aditya Babu was given saying that the stills and logo published a few days ago were made by someone else and were not official.

Ganesh...Just Ganesh is an upcoming film starring Ram and Kajal. It is directed by Saravanan (who is debuting in Telugu), and is produced by Sravanthi Ravikishore on the Sravanthi Films banner. The same banner produced last year's super hit Ready also starring Ram. My expectations are high for this album because young and talented music director Mickey J. Meyer composed music for it. Mickey's soundtracks such as Happy Days, Hare Ram and, of course, Kotha Bangaru Lokam were all musical hits. Let's see how this one turned out.

01 - Tanemando
Singers : Javed Ali
Lyrics : Seetarama Sastry
This is a typical Mickey melody. It has elements of "Nijamga Nenena" from Kotha Bangaru Lokam and "Sariga Padani" from Hare Ram. But it is very different from those songs as well. The musical introduction sound more like an interlude as the song starts abruptly (I had to check if the song was playing from the start the first time I heard it!). The interludes are constructed in accordance with the feel of the song and the lyrics are very well written as usual by Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry. Javed Ali has surprisingly good Telugu pronounciation, and has pretty good clarity in his rendition. It is a good soothing song to begin the album.

This is like a song with a folk-like beat and modern orchestration. The beat of the song reminded me a little bit of "Konda Kaaki" from Aparichitudu. It is sung by Shweta Pandit who sung "Nenani Neevani" from Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Krishna Chaitanya who is well known from reality singing shows. The staring of the charanaalu reminded me a little bit of the charaanalu in "Ninne Pelladukuni" from Ready. It is not a bad song either, but somehow it lacks the appeal the Mickey songs usually have. There is not much to say about lyrics, they are simply written for the tune.

The introduction, though short, is interesting. Srimathumitha's voice is very peculiar, and her voice has been distorted deliberately in some parts for effect. It is a quiet song in all aspects, musically and vocally. They have tried for something new with this song and it is hard to say whether it paid off. It sounds very different, but may not be universally liked. I thought it was something new, and it did get into my head after a while. I will leave this one up to you to judge, but I thought it was pretty good.

Just when we have heard something that sounds very different we hear something that is very routine. There is an ample dose of Hindi and English lyrics along with the Telugu. The only parts of the song I liked is the first interlude and the tune of the charaanalu. Otherwise, there is not much to say about this song. The singers were alright, but Kunal Ganjawala's voice was a little bit rough for this song. OK but a little bit routine.

05 - Chalo Chalore

This is obviously a song involving kids. The movie is supposed to revolve around kids and is said to targeting the family audiences. This song will be liked by kids especially because of the lyrics. The lyrics in the charanaalu are well written, e.g. "TV channelani Pogola marpinchestha, Video games adela o wrist watch konipistha..." Karthik as usual does a good job. I liked the humming given by the chorus as well, it is quite catchy. Overall, I think this number will be a good one to watch on screen. A good number.

This seems to be a hero introduction or celebration song. It is the only song in the album that justifies the title Ganesh. It has an interesting introduction for a song that is targetting the masses. It also doesn't have heavy beats that is a characteristic of mass songs. Interesting orchestration, but it may not reach the targeted audience. Ranjith also does a good job. I thought it as a good number.

Last Words:

Overall it is an album that will only appeal to a select proportion of the audience. It has some good melody and doesn't offer much to the mass audience. It is a complete contrast to Ram's earlier film Maska, which was a musical feast for those craving fast dance numbers. Coming to Mickey, I thought it was a bit of a disappoint from his side. This album certainly doesn't measure up to his last release Kotha Bangaru Lokam. It may not help the movie in a big way. Nevertheless, it is a good album and you can listen to it in your free time.

Why Josh was released on 05/09/09

I wrote a post earlier arguing that Josh shouldn't have been release just a few hours of the CM's death. But I found out that it was out of Dil Raju's hands at that stage. The prints had already been dispatched overseas and some places in Andhra as well. If they were to wait for a week, high quality pirated copies of the movie would have been leaked into the market even before the release of the movie. Hence, they had no choice but to release it on the 5th. Sorry to Dil Raju and the Josh team for the earlier post.

Arya 2 Details

The title is confirmed as Arya 2, there were rumours that it would be called something else. The film stars Allu Arjun as Arya, Kajal, Navdeep and Shraddha Das in other roles. It is directed by Sukumar who directed the original Arya back in 2004. The music is also composed by Devi Sri Prasad. The music for the movie will be released in the next couple of weeks and the film is likely to release for Dussera or maybe in October sometime.

Allu Arjun is Varudu

The last few months we have been called the untitled Trivikram/Mahesh Babu flick Varudu. But infact that title has been snatched by Gunasekhar for the movie he is directing with Allu Arjun. The movie is underway now and has music composed by Mani Sharma.

Why Josh shouldn't release tomorrow

Isn't it obvious? The CM has died in an accident, and is having his funeral today. Who in their right mind would release a movie just a few hours after the funeral? The government announced 7 days of mourning, can't they even wait that long? The fans might be dying to watch the movie, but they have got to realise that there are more important things in life than their favourite hero's movie (or son's movie) releasing. Please give YSR the respect he deserves.

Finally the much awaited Josh introducing Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya is releasing tomorrow. There are a lot of specialities with this one, Dil Raju, Sandeep Chowta, Radha daughter Kartika etc. You know all of that. The other members of the cast are JD Chakravarty, Prakash Raj, Brahmanandham, and many new faces as well.

I gave the audio review to this a while back. You can read it here. I gave it an overall rating of 2.9/5, which is pretty good by my standards. It also depends on how the songs are picturised on screen.

From the inside info I heard, it has got good talk from the censors. Some of the fans are really confident, one of them even said that he will stop giving pre-release reports if it isn't a hit. But let's see what actually happens.

As far as the release date is concerned it is probably a good time to release, as it has been more than a month since the audio has released. Magadheera is still roaring at the theatres but if Josh is successful it will slow it down a bit.
